A prominent law firm in San Diego, CA, is seeking a motivated and ambitious Junior Civil Litigation Attorney to join its thriving legal team. This firm specializes in personal injury cases, primarily involving motor vehicle accidents and slip/trip and falls. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing litigation processes and preparing cases for trial, under the guidance of experienced attorneys, with the opportunity to take on increasing responsibilities and autonomy over time.

Duties

• Prepare and draft settlement demands.
• Conduct discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
• Manage law and motion practices, including drafting and arguing motions.
• Participate in depositions, including both taking and defending.
• Represent clients during mediation and settlement negotiations.
• Assist with trial preparation, including creating trial strategies and materials.
• Handle assigned caseloads independently as experience and expertise grow.
• Advocate for clients in court and, eventually, first-chair jury trials.

Requirements

• 0-3 years of experience in civil litigation.
• Strong interest in litigation and trial advocacy.
• Excellent legal research and writing skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in California.

Skills

• Proficiency in drafting legal documents and motions.
