Job Title: Insurance Coverage Attorney (Special Counsel)

Job Overview:

A reputable law firm based in Seattle, WA is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Attorney to join its expanding team. The role involves representing insurance companies in coverage disputes and advising them on a variety of coverage matters. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned legal professional with expertise in insurance litigation to contribute to the firm's growth and work in a hybrid model.

Duties:

• Represent insurance companies in coverage litigation and disputes
• Provide legal counsel on a range of coverage matters, including policy interpretation and analysis
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other court documents related to insurance coverage issues
• Conduct discovery, including drafting discovery demands and responses
• Take and defend depositions in insurance-related litigation
• Argue motions in court and attend court conferences
• Draft settlement agreements and handle appeals
• Participate in arbitration and trial proceedings when necessary

Requirements:

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in insurance coverage and litigation within a law firm setting
• Licensed to practice law in the state of Washington
• Extensive knowledge of insurance policies and contracts
• Strong experience in all phases of litigation, from drafting motions to taking depositions and arguing cases in court
• Prior experience with settlement agreements, depositions, and appeals
• Familiarity with arbitration and trial proceedings is a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Active membership in the Washington State Bar Association

Certifications:

• Washington State Bar license (required)
• Additional certifications in insurance law or litigation may be beneficial

• Strong analytical ability to interpret complex insurance policies and related contracts
