Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm with a diverse and dynamic litigation practice is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join their Pittsburgh office. This opportunity will involve working on a broad spectrum of general litigation cases across industries, including commercial, employment, municipal, toxic tort defense, and personal injury defense. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience in general litigation, with exposure to trial work. The firm offers a collaborative environment where attorneys support each other and work together across practice groups to deliver high-quality client service.

Location:

Duties:

• Analyze and provide legal counsel on various legal policy issues.
• Lead clients through the litigation process, including depositions and courtroom strategies.
• Offer legal advice on matters arising from actual or anticipated lawsuits.
• Identify potential legal risks and provide solutions to mitigate them.
• Develop and recommend client policies and positions on legal issues.
• Conduct research, interview clients and witnesses, and prepare trial or deposition materials.
• Represent clients in legal proceedings, including depositions, hearings, and trials.
• Prepare for trial by drafting briefs, pleadings, position statements, stipulations, and motions.
• Present complex legal arguments in court and defend them as necessary.
• Advise clients on creating policies and procedures to prevent future litigation.
• Participate in practice group meetings to discuss current cases and objectives.
• Engage in professional development through Continuing Legal Education (CLE) and firm-sponsored events.
• Author publications for internal or external use to support professional development and visibility.

Requirements:

• Admission to the Pennsylvania State Bar with active membership in good standing.
• 3-6 years of general litigation experience with trial exposure.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local laws.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
