Insurance and Reinsurance Associate Attorney

A law firm in Princeton, NJ is seeking an Insurance and Reinsurance Associate Attorney with 2 to 6 years of experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of insurance coverage issues under professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance policies. They should have extensive experience in civil litigation, including drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, handling all facets of discovery, conducting depositions, and making court appearances. The candidate should also demonstrate experience in business development, client management, and independent case management. Superior academic credentials and exceptional research and writing skills are essential.

Duties:

• Analyze and interpret insurance coverage issues related to professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance policies.
• Manage insurance coverage disputes and reinsurance matters, providing strategic legal counsel and representation.
• Draft, review, and prepare legal documents including pleadings, dispositive motions, and discovery requests.
• Oversee all aspects of the discovery process, including preparing and responding to discovery motions, conducting depositions, and managing discovery disputes.
• Represent clients in court, including handling trials, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, managing cases from inception through resolution.
• Engage in business development activities to attract and retain clients, expanding the firm's insurance and reinsurance practice.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to develop and execute effective case strategies.
• Stay informed about industry developments, legal trends, and changes in insurance and reinsurance laws.

Requirements:

• 2 to 6 years of experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation.
• Comprehensive understanding of insurance coverage issues including professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance.
• Extensive experience in drafting legal documents, managing discovery, conducting depositions, and representing clients in court.
• Preferred experience in business development, client management, and independent case management.
• Excellent academic credentials with demonstrated research and writing skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New Jersey State Bar or eligibility to practice in New Jersey.
