Job Overview: A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a Labor And Employment Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of relevant California L&E experience in a top 100 law firm setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in defending wage and hour class actions, PAGA actions, and single-plaintiff employment cases, with proficiency in handling discovery, witness interviews, class certification issues, and administrative proceedings.

Duties:

• Defend against wage and hour class actions and PAGA actions, with experience in FLSA collective actions considered a plus.
• Handle discovery processes, including conducting witness interviews and addressing class certification issues under partner and/or senior attorney oversight.
• Represent clients in single-plaintiff employment cases, including taking and defending depositions, preparing and responding to discovery, and drafting dispositive motions in state and federal court (and in arbitration).
• Provide legal counsel to clients in administrative hearings and proceedings, EEOC/CRD charges, and responses to demand letters.
• Conduct legal research, analysis, and writing tasks with precision and expertise, demonstrating fluent working knowledge and understanding of California state and federal court procedural and evidence rules.
• Advise clients on California labor and employment issues, leveraging comprehensive understanding and experience in the field.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of relevant California Labor and Employment law experience in a top 100 law firm setting.
• Proficiency in defending wage and hour class actions, PAGA actions, and single-plaintiff employment cases.
• Strong academic background with excellent legal research, analysis, and writing abilities.
• Experience with discovery processes, witness interviews, and class certification issues.
• Demonstrated capability in taking and defending depositions, preparing and responding to discovery, and drafting dispositive motions in state and federal court (and in arbitration).
• Familiarity with administrative hearings and proceedings, EEOC/CRD charges, and responses to demand letters.
• California Bar membership is required.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the State Bar of California.
