Finance Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm in Hastings, MI, is seeking an experienced Finance Attorney with 6-15 years of significant experience in finance matters. The ideal candidate will comprehensively understand lender and borrower side work, including loan documentation and due diligence. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to lead transactions in a first-chair capacity, draft, review, and negotiate credit agreements, and have a portable business book. Strong business development capabilities and an entrepreneurial mindset are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage complex finance transactions in a first-chair capacity.
• Draft, review, and negotiate credit agreements and related loan documents.
• Conduct thorough due diligence for finance-related matters.
• Represent both lender and borrower sides in financial transactions.
• Provide legal advice and guidance on finance-related issues.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Develop and execute business development strategies to expand the firm's finance practice.
• Ensure compliance with legal regulations and standards.
• Handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining high responsiveness.
• Deliver exceptional client service and maintain strong client relationships.

Requirements:

• 6-15 years of significant experience in finance matters.
• Demonstrated ability to lead transactions in a first-chair capacity.
• Comprehensive understanding of lender and borrower side work, loan documentation, and due diligence.
• Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating credit agreements and related loan documents.
• Portable book of business preferred.
• Strong business development capabilities with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Exceptional attention to detail and outstanding customer/client service skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Michigan Bar is required.
