This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of the firm’s patent group, focusing on patent prosecution, portfolio management, and IP strategy for clients in a range of industries, including automotive, healthcare, and manufacturing.

Duties:

  • Manage patent prosecution, IP strategy, and portfolio development for diverse clients.
  • Provide comprehensive IP counseling, including patentability, freedom-to-operate, and invalidity assessments.
  • Develop strong client relationships and expand your existing book of business.
  • Collaborate with leadership to grow the patent practice and develop long-term strategic goals.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and foster a culture of innovation and professional growth within the IP group.
  • Engage in business development activities to increase the firm’s client base and market presence.
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys across the firm to offer integrated legal solutions to clients with diverse needs.

Requirements:

  • 6-10 years of experience in patent law, with a focus on patent prosecution and IP counseling.
  • A portable book of business with demonstrated success in client retention and acquisition.
  • Strong entrepreneurial drive and the ambition to help grow the patent practice.
  • Proven experience working with clients in industries such as technology, life sciences, manufacturing, automotive, or healthcare.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar.

Certifications:

  • Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to explain complex legal and technical concepts clearly to a diverse clientele.
