Duties

  • Assist in preparing and filing responses to Office Actions and other communications with the patent office.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in patent prosecution or a related legal field.
  • Strong background in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, physics, or a similar technical field.
  • Proven experience in prior art research and patentability analysis.
  • Experience with medical devices is a plus.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, physics, or a related technical field.

Certifications

  • Admission to the state bar.
  • Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is preferred.

Skills

  • Strong communication and investigational skills.
  • Ability to draft and prosecute patent applications effectively.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting technical and legal information.
