Job Overview: A reputable law firm is seeking a Patent Prosecution Associate Attorney to join its team in the St. Louis Metro area. Duties:

  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications related to electrical engineering, computer science, and computer engineering technologies.
  • Work with large- and medium-sized clients from diverse industries, including telecommunications, semiconductors, and robotics.
  • Conduct patentability searches and analysis.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to draft patent applications, office action responses, and other documents.
  • Assist in the preparation of legal arguments and submissions to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Provide legal counsel regarding patent strategy and portfolio management.

Requirements:

  • Zero to three years of experience in patent prosecution.
  • Eligibility to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Familiarity with U.S. patent practice and patent application procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.

Education:

  • Undergraduate or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.

Certifications:

  • Eligibility to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Skills:

  • Strong technical background in electrical engineering, computer science, or computer engineering.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications is a plus but not required.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
