The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of employment-related issues and regulations, including FLSA, ERISA, COBRA, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and Title VII. This role involves advising clients, managing employment litigation, and working collaboratively in a client-focused environment.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on compliance with wage and hour laws and other employment regulations.
  • Handle administrative actions, including filing complaints, responding to agency inquiries, and representing clients in administrative proceedings.
  • Assist in employment litigation and arbitrations, including drafting and reviewing pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Prepare for and participate in trials and arbitration hearings, presenting evidence and arguments on behalf of clients.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies and client advice.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related documents, such as contracts, policies, and settlement agreements.
  • Stay current on changes in employment law and regulations to ensure accurate and timely client advice.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop effective legal strategies and solutions.

Requirements:

  • 3-4 years of litigation experience in a law firm environment with a focus on employment law.
  • Demonstrated understanding of employment-related issues and regulatory frameworks, including FLSA, ERISA, COBRA, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and Title VII.
  • Proven experience in handling administrative actions and employment litigation, including trial and arbitration processes.
  • Excellent academic credentials and strong writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Admission to practice law in Florida is preferred, but the firm is willing to consider strong candidates seeking to relocate to Florida.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in Florida is preferred.
