Job Overview
A law firm is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Land Use Associate Attorney to join their team in Vancouver, WA. The ideal candidate will have experience in real estate, environmental, and land use law, as well as strong litigation skills. This role requires a blend of independent project ownership and collaborative teamwork to effectively serve clients in the land use and natural resources sectors.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in public hearings and administrative proceedings related to land use and environmental matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on development feasibility and regulatory compliance.
  • Draft and prepare land use applications, legal briefs, and other documentation.
  • Analyze and interpret administrative codes and regulations affecting land use.
  • Engage in general litigation, including oral advocacy and trial preparation.
  • Participate in appellate briefing and related legal proceedings.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop strategies for land use projects.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Support business development initiatives within the land use and real estate sectors.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in real estate, environmental, land use, administrative law, or general litigation.
  • Oregon State Bar or Washington State Bar admission or eligibility for immediate reciprocity.

Education

Certifications

  • Admission to the Oregon State Bar or Washington State Bar, or eligibility for immediate reciprocity.
