Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Managing Associate to join its growing Technology Companies Group in Austin. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in private offerings, venture capital, and transactions for emerging technology businesses. This position offers an opportunity to work on high-profile tech deals while contributing to a collaborative and dynamic team.

Location:

  • Austin, Texas

Duties:

  • Represent high-growth emerging technology businesses, advising on venture capital financings, private offerings, and other corporate transactions.
  • Handle a wide range of technology-related transactions, including M&A, capital raises, and joint ventures.
  • Work closely with clients and investors on strategic transactions in the tech space.
  • Lead and manage complex matters with a focus on both business and legal strategy.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and collaborate effectively within the team.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior associates in the group.

Requirements:

  • 5 to 6 years of relevant experience in a major law firm, specifically focusing on venture capital, private offerings, and transactions for emerging companies.
  • Strong academic background with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly driven and proactive with the ability to work independently and manage complex matters.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Membership to the Texas Bar required.

Skills:

  • Expertise in venture capital, private offerings, and emerging company transactions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and drafting abilities for complex transactions.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Team-oriented with leadership capabilities.
