Duties:

• Represent individuals (detained and non-detained) before Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals

• Conduct legal consultations, assess eligibility, and develop tailored immigration strategies

• Draft and submit immigration applications, petitions, and legal briefs across a range of matters, including family-based and humanitarian relief

• Collaborate with legal support staff and attorneys to prepare court filings and case documentation

• Engage in client preparation for testimony and interviews with USCIS or EOIR

• Participate in client intake, including visits to detention facilities as needed

• Interpret legal developments and communicate changes in immigration policy to community partners or stakeholders

• Liaise with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and nonprofit organizations when necessary

• Maintain accurate, timely records using case management software

• Monitor active caseload and follow up with clients to ensure continuous progress

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in Florida (in good standing)

• 1-4 years of experience practicing immigration law

• Strong advocacy and case management skills

• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a legal team

• Prior courtroom experience representing clients in removal proceedings is highly desirable

• Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Florida Bar (required)

Skills:

• Proficiency in preparing family-based petitions, humanitarian relief applications, and filings before EOIR

• Excellent legal research and persuasive writing abilities

• High emotional intelligence and cultural competence when working with diverse clients

• Skilled in client communication, strategic thinking, and multitasking

• Familiarity with legal case management platforms is a plus
