A law firm seeks a dedicated and experienced Intake Attorney to join its team in Coral Gables, FL. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an associate to gain valuable experience in maritime personal injury and hotel tort law while working with a dynamic team of legal professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in reviewing legal cases, evaluating potential claims, and managing the intake process for clients seeking legal representation.

Duties:

  • Review and assess intake documents and materials from potential clients to determine case merit.
  • Address legal inquiries from potential and existing clients, explaining legal processes and answering questions.
  • Meet with managing partners to discuss case evaluations and potential strategies.
  • Oversee and manage intake staff to ensure effective case evaluation and communication with clients.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to move legal cases forward in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Handle initial case assessments and help prioritize high-value matters.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active, good standing license to practice law in the State of Florida.
  • Experience in evaluating personal injury cases, preferably in maritime or hotel torts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and staff.
  • Proven ability to move legal cases forward and manage a caseload.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Florida.

Skills:

  • Strong research capabilities, especially related to personal injury and maritime law.
  • Ability to assess and analyze legal documents to determine case merits.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage a caseload and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
