A reputable law firm in the Fairfax, VA area is seeking a skilled Immigration Defense Attorney to join its growing team. The firm specializes in a wide array of immigration services, including removal defense, family-based immigration, and humanitarian applications. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in immigration law, a passion for client advocacy, and a collaborative approach to legal work. Duties:

• Provide legal counsel and representation in immigration matters, focusing on family-based petitions, adjustment of status, naturalization, and removal defense.
• Represent clients before USCIS, EOIR, and other government agencies.
• Conduct legal research and stay updated on immigration laws, policies, and regulations.
• Assist clients in navigating complex immigration issues, including criminal immigration and humanitarian matters.
• Prepare and file immigration petitions, applications, and other necessary documentation.
• Work collaboratively with other attorneys, paralegals, and staff to ensure effective case management and client satisfaction.
• Build strong relationships with clients and provide timely updates on case progress.
• Handle a high volume of cases, meeting established metrics for case resolution.
• Conduct consultations with potential clients and assess their immigration needs.
• Lead and manage a caseload independently, with opportunities for mentorship and teamwork.

Requirements:

• Active membership in VA Bar.
• 2 years of family and/or immigration experience preferred.
• 3 years of experience in drafting/writing legal documents is preferred.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage a significant caseload and work with minimal supervision.
• Client-focused with a strong ability to build and maintain relationships.
• Experience or familiarity with working directly with immigrant communities is a plus.
• Fluent in Spanish is preferred for client interviews and consultations.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in a VA Bar.
