The position offers significant room for professional growth, providing the opportunity to work on a variety of complex immigration matters, including both detained and non-detained cases. This role is ideal for an attorney with a strong background in immigration law, who is ready to manage a caseload and collaborate with an experienced team of professionals in a supportive environment.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
  • Provide strategic legal counsel and explain complex immigration concepts to clients.
  • Manage a diverse caseload including family-based immigration petitions, removal defense, and USCIS applications.
  • Conduct client intake interviews, including visits to detention centers for detained individuals.
  • Prepare and submit immigration applications, including family petitions, humanitarian relief, and EOIR cases.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on immigration-related matters.
  • Develop legal strategies, prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings, and provide guidance on testimony.
  • Draft legal briefs and motions to support various immigration cases.
  • Advise clients on potential legal benefits and available immigration options.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in immigration law, specifically handling EOIR and detained cases.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and effectively move cases forward.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Experience working with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian Cases, Detained Individuals, and USCIS Applications.
  • Familiarity with case management software is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in good standing.

  • Expertise in immigration law and related legal practices.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
