Job Overview:

A law firm seeks a dedicated Litigation Associate to join its team in Los Gatos, CA, with a hybrid work setup. Duties:

  • Represent clients in insurance defense litigation, handling depositions, motion practice, and trial proceedings
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, and motions
  • Attend court hearings, trials, and legal proceedings in person and virtually
  • Work alongside senior attorneys and legal staff to ensure strategic case management
  • Conduct legal research and case law analysis to support litigation strategies
  • Maintain accurate records and case files, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Provide recommendations for case strategy and settlement discussions
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel

Requirements:

  • 0-2 years of experience in insurance defense, civil litigation, or a related field
  • Active membership in the California and/or Nevada State Bar
  • Strong legal writing and research skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable attending court proceedings both in-person and virtually

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in California and/or Nevada (active and in good standing)

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software
