Job Overview:

A prestigious law firm is seeking an Employment & Labor Attorney with 1-2 years of experience to join its Employment and Labor Practice Group in Reston office. The ideal candidate will have experience in employment counseling, statutory and regulatory compliance, executive employment and separation agreements, and employment aspects of M&A transactions. Experience with litigation or affirmative action plans is a plus. This role offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic and fast-paced team in a rapidly evolving practice area.

Location:

  • Reston, VA

Duties:

  • Provide legal counseling on statutory and regulatory compliance in the employment space.
  • Assist with executive employment and separation agreements.
  • Advise on the employment aspects of M&A transactions.
  • Handle various aspects of employment litigation (if applicable).
  • Support affirmative action plan-related matters (if applicable).
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients on employment-related issues.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare detailed legal memoranda.
  • Draft and review employment-related documents and agreements.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in employment counseling, with some litigation and/or affirmative action plan experience preferred.
  • Strong academic credentials and excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal issues related to employment and labor law.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active state bar membership in the jurisdiction where the candidate will be working.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of employment law statutes and regulations.
  • Experience in employment counseling, M&A transactions, and executive agreements.
  • Litigation experience is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently when required.
