Labor and Employment Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team in Los Angeles, CA. Duties:

• Provide expert legal counsel on a broad range of labor and employment-related matters, including:
  • Human resources issues
  • Wage and hour law
  • Unemployment claims and state agency issues
  • Labor relations and employee benefits
  • Employment agreements and policy matters
  • Employment-related litigation and grievances
• Draft and prepare legal documents, such as motions, briefs, and contracts.
• Assess legal risks and opportunities within the labor and employment sector, offering clear and actionable advice to clients.
• Negotiate settlements and manage legal disputes effectively.
• Educate clients and stakeholders on complex legal issues, policies, and best practices.
• Oversee administrative and management functions related to the legal practice.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of substantive litigation experience, particularly in labor and employment law.
• Proficient in drafting and reviewing legal documents.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain strong rapport with clients and stakeholders.
• Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California.
