Entry Level Immigration Attorney

Location:

Duties:

• Explain immigration concepts and develop strategic solutions for clients
• Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
• Manage a caseload and maintain regular client communication
• Conduct intake visits with detained individuals at detention centers
• Prepare various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions
• Review and revise immigration applications/packets as needed
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on changes in immigration law
• Provide strategic immigration consultations for potential clients
• Develop case strategy and prepare clients/witnesses for court or USCIS testimony
• Analyze legal issues to determine potential case benefits
• Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases

Requirements:

• Demonstrated interest in immigration law through law school clinics, volunteer work, or internships
• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Active bar admission (or pending admission for recent law graduates)
• Ability to manage a caseload independently and efficiently
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Team player, open to collaborating and strategizing with colleagues
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required
• Familiarity with Case Management Software is a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active bar admission (or pending for recent graduates)
