The ideal candidate will have experience in consular processing and removal defense and a passion for providing top-tier legal services to individuals facing immigration challenges. This is a prime opportunity to work with a supportive legal team, managing your caseload while offering legal advice to clients in removal proceedings and various other immigration cases.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on immigration matters and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent both detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Oversee and manage a caseload, ensuring all cases progress on time.
  • Conduct intake interviews and gather relevant information from detained individuals.
  • Prepare and review a range of immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on immigration law updates and case strategies.
  • Consult with clients, assess their cases, and develop legal strategies for court or USCIS appearances.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for testimony in court and at USCIS interviews.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs and documents for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience practicing immigration law, with a strong focus on consular processing and removal defense.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with fellow attorneys and legal assistants.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage client interactions with professionalism and care.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and move them forward efficiently.
  • Experience in handling Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian applications, EOIR proceedings, Detained cases, Citizenship applications, and other USCIS matters.
  • Familiarity with case management software is an advantage.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must be an admitted attorney, eligible to practice law in the state.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law.
  • Bar membership in good standing.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
