Job Overview:
A reputable, multi-state law firm is seeking a highly qualified Senior Attorney to join its Tennessee practice. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mortgage foreclosure, collections, and creditor’s rights. Location:
Nashville, TN

Duties:

  • Handle a significant volume of cases related to creditor’s rights, including mortgage foreclosure and collections.
  • Represent clients in court, handling appearances and legal proceedings.
  • Manage discovery practice, including depositions and conflict resolution.
  • Assist in growing the firm’s presence and reputation within the industry.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships to be viewed as a trusted partner and advisor.
  • Provide leadership and support to junior attorneys and staff as necessary.
  • Ensure the firm’s legal strategies align with client needs and objectives.
  • Occasionally travel for court appearances and client meetings as needed.

Requirements:

  • Membership in good standing with the Tennessee State Bar (Required).
  • 8+ years of experience in mortgage foreclosure and collections.
  • Extensive experience handling creditor’s rights matters, including managing a substantial caseload.
  • Familiarity with resolving issues in discovery, depositions, and conflict resolution.
  • Appellate experience (Preferred).
  • Knowledge of TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code (Preferred).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams.
  • Strong reputation management skills and ability to build long-term client relationships.
  • Ability to appear in court and represent clients effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Bar License in Tennessee (Required).
  • Additional state licenses are a plus.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of mortgage foreclosure, collections, and creditor’s rights law.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication and courtroom presentation abilities.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of cases and maintain attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Leadership capabilities to mentor junior attorneys and staff.
