Job Overview:
An established and growing law firm is seeking a motivated Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Personal Injury Litigation team. This is a unique opportunity for an attorney with 1 to 5 years of experience in handling serious injury cases, including automobile and trucking collisions, workplace accidents, and commercial liability matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to grow their litigation skills and handle cases from pretrial through trial. Location:

  • Waldorf, MD

Duties:

  • Analyze client needs and devise case strategies for personal injury claims
  • Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including pretrial and trial preparation
  • Work on a diverse range of personal injury cases involving serious injuries
  • Manage and collaborate with administrative assistants, paralegals, and law clerks
  • Draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and discovery requests
  • Communicate with clients to update them on case progress and developments
  • Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients in mediation and court hearings
  • Ensure adherence to deadlines and legal procedures throughout case management

Requirements:

  • 1 to 5 years of experience in personal injury law, particularly litigation
  • Experience in automobile, trucking, or workplace injury cases is preferred
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and case management abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Motivated and driven to succeed in a fast-paced environment

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in the state of Maryland (or ability to waive in)
