Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in Fort Lauderdale, specializing in insurance defense with a focus on medical malpractice claims, is looking to hire an experienced Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in defending medical malpractice cases and the ability to handle cases from initial notice of intent (NOI) through to trial. The firm is looking for a detail-oriented attorney with strong communication and writing skills to join their team and contribute to the success of their clients.

Duties:

  • Defend medical malpractice claims in Florida state and federal courts.
  • Manage and work cases from NOI through trial, including depositions, hearings, and settlement negotiations.
  • Review and analyze case documentation, legal filings, and evidence.
  • Prepare legal briefs, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts regarding case strategy.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case development and trial preparation.
  • Attend depositions, court hearings, and trials as needed.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in medical malpractice defense.
  • Proven ability to handle cases through all phases of litigation, including trial.
  • Experience taking and defending depositions.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong client relationship management skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Florida Bar is required.

Skills:
