Associate Attorney needed for Hartford office

A law firm is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Associate Attorney to join their team in Hartford, CT. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of litigation experience, excellent legal research and writing skills, and the ability to work independently in a busy atmosphere. The candidate will be responsible for drafting motions, arguing short calendars, taking and defending depositions, attending court hearings, conducting jury trials, and working closely with clients to provide exceptional representation.

Duties:

• Draft and file motions and other legal documents.
• Argue short calendar matters in court.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Issue and respond to written discovery requests.
• Attend court hearings and represent clients in various legal proceedings.
• Conduct jury trials from start to finish.
• Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide effective legal representation.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
• Collaborate with colleagues and other legal professionals on case management and strategy development.
• Maintain accurate and organized client files and case documentation.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of litigation experience, including taking and defending depositions and conducting jury trials.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and busy atmosphere.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the State Bar of Connecticut (required).
