Attorney Workers' Compensation Defense

A law firm seeks an experienced Attorney to join its growing team in Los Angeles, CA. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity for an attorney with a background in workers' compensation defense. The ideal candidate will be passionate about client interaction, litigation, and providing expert guidance to insurance carriers and third-party administrators (TPAs). The position requires court appearances in Southern California, and the firm offers an environment that supports professional development and client satisfaction.

Duties

• Provide expert legal defense for insurance carriers and TPAs on workers' compensation claims.
• Represent clients before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB).
• Conduct legal research, prepare motions, and draft legal documents related to workers' compensation cases.
• Collaborate with other legal professionals to build strong case strategies.
• Participate in client meetings and guide case developments.
• Handle litigation, including pre-trial motions, hearings, and settlement negotiations.
• Attend in-person court hearings in Southern California as required.

Requirements

• Proven experience in defending workers' compensation matters before the WCAB.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining communication with clients and team members.
• Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills.
• Must be admitted to the California State Bar or be eligible to practice in California.
• Prior litigation experience is essential, with a preference for those experienced in insurance defense.
• Must be comfortable with in-person court appearances in Southern California.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the California State Bar or eligibility to practice in California.
