A law firm in Austin is seeking a Senior Bankruptcy Attorney with at least 2 years of experience in bankruptcy law. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, possess strong interpersonal and analytical skills, and handle routine bankruptcy matters effectively.

Job Duties:

  • Review bankruptcy pleadings and claims to be filed in the specific jurisdiction.
  • Manage routine bankruptcy cases, including Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 filings.
  • Monitor electronic bankruptcy filings (ECFs) and stay updated on case developments.
  • Attend regular bankruptcy hearings and represent clients in court.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, opposing counsel, and Trustees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervising attorneys or partners.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership and good standing with the Virginia Bar; Maryland Bar license is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing bankruptcy law.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workloads effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate work in a fast-paced, volume-based environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced-level computer skills and proficiency in general office software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients and colleagues, both verbally and in writing.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Virginia Bar; Maryland Bar license (optional but advantageous).
