Job Overview: A law firm in Dallas, TX, is seeking a Real Estate Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a JD degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience in construction contracting and related development matters. The role involves providing transactional and litigation support across various industry sectors, focusing on drafting, negotiating, and advising on design, construction, and development agreements.

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate design, construction, and development agreements in various industry sectors.
  • Negotiate EPC contracts for extensive infrastructure and energy projects.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on claims management, change orders, extra work claims, delay, and construction defect claims.
  • Support construction litigation and arbitration matters, including drafting pleadings, discovery, and motions and preparing for depositions, mediations, and hearings/trials.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, legal teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Produce high-quality work products and maintain responsiveness to client needs.
  • Adhere to firm policies and practices, meeting deadlines and expectations consistently.
  • Foster positive relationships within the firm and with clients.

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Texas State Bar.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in construction contracting and development.
  • Familiarity with industry form agreements such as AIA and similar forms.
  • Experience with litigation or arbitration preferred.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
