Job Overview:

A law firm in Chicago is seeking a Projects Lawyer with 4-6 years of experience in Project Development and mergers and acquisitions, particularly in renewable energy, oil & gas, or project development sectors. The role offers the opportunity to work on renewable energy transactions exclusively or within a broader energy and infrastructure practice.

Duties:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating engineering, procurement, and construction agreements (EPC), operations and maintenance agreements (O&M), equipment procurement agreements, and other development agreements.
  • Conducting due diligence and providing legal analysis on project documentation, regulatory issues, and transaction structures.
  • Advising clients on project financing, including debt and equity financing structures.
  • Managed client relationships and coordinated with various stakeholders such as developers, investors, and regulatory authorities.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience as a Projects Lawyer, specializing in Project Development and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Prior experience in renewable energy, oil & gas, or project development is essential.
  • Strong understanding of EPC, O&M agreements, equipment procurement agreements, and other relevant development agreements.
  • Proven track record in handling project financing matters.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.

Skills:

  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.

Preferred Certifications:
