A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a Senior-level Economic Development Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have 6-8 years of experience in advising both domestic and international companies on complex expansion and relocation projects. This role involves managing the legal aspects related to corporate headquarters, manufacturing facilities, datacenters, distribution centers, and large offices across sectors including automotive, life sciences, and aviation. Bar admission is required.

Duties:

  • Provide expert legal counsel to domestic and international clients on complex expansion and relocation projects, including corporate headquarters, manufacturing facilities, datacenters, distribution centers, and large offices.
  • Advise on economic development projects across sectors such as automotive, life sciences, and aviation.
  • Oversee the legal aspects of site selection, land acquisition, and development processes.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to economic development and real estate transactions.
  • Work closely with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to facilitate project approvals and successful implementation.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and stay informed about changes in economic development laws, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Develop and implement strategies to address legal and regulatory challenges in economic development projects.
  • Provide strategic advice on zoning, land use, incentives, and compliance issues.

Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Bar admission in Washington, DC.
  • 6-8 years of experience in economic development law, particularly in handling complex expansion and relocation projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale projects involving corporate facilities and large offices.
  • Experience with automotive, life sciences, and aviation sectors is highly desirable.

  • Extensive knowledge of economic development law and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficient in drafting and negotiating legal documents for major development projects.
