The ideal candidate must have experience in managed care or health care law and demonstrate excellent academic credentials, as well as strong writing, research, analytical, and verbal communication skills. The position involves handling multiple cases, managing regulatory or compliance matters, and serving as the point person for litigation and client counseling, including coordinating with other associates and staff.

Duties:

  • Manage complex managed care litigation cases, including commercial arbitration and court proceedings.
  • Act as the primary client contact, providing strategic legal counsel and ensuring consistent communication throughout the litigation process.
  • Oversee and coordinate litigation efforts across various teams, including associates, paralegals, and support staff.
  • Provide legal advice and counseling on managed care regulatory and compliance issues.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
  • Represent clients in court, arbitration hearings, and before regulatory agencies.
  • Develop and implement litigation strategies aligned with client goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed of legal developments in managed care and health care law to anticipate changes that could impact clients.
  • Handle multiple cases and manage deadlines to ensure timely resolution.

Requirements:

  • 3-7 years of experience in complex commercial litigation and arbitration, with a focus on managed care or health care law.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple cases and manage regulatory or compliance matters simultaneously.
  • Experience serving as the lead attorney on litigation and client counseling matters, including managing teams and client relationships.
  • Strong case management and client counseling experience preferred.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
