A law firm seeks an experienced Senior Litigation Associate to join its national Surety and Fidelity practice in Nashville, Tennessee. Duties:

  • Litigation Management:

    • Handle complex multi-party lawsuits in federal and state courts.
    • Act as lead counsel for smaller-scale litigation cases.
    • Support senior partners on large, high-stakes cases.
  • Supervision and Training:

    • Mentored and directed junior associates on litigation strategies and case management.
    • Guide legal procedures, client relations, and case preparation.
  • Legal Representation:

    • Represent clients in depositions, hearings, arbitrations, and trials.
    • Prepare and present complex motions and arguments in court.
    • Conduct appellate advocacy, as required.
  • Client and Case Strategy:

    • Collaborate with clients and partners to develop comprehensive legal strategies.
    • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis to support case objectives.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in complex commercial litigation, insurance coverage, and/or construction litigation.
  • Proficiency in handling multi-state federal court cases and managing depositions.
  • Strong analytical and legal writing skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Graduation from a top 50 law school is preferred.
  • Ranked in the top 25% of the graduating class.

Certifications:

  • Active Tennessee law license or eligibility for admission by reciprocity.
  • Multi-state admission to federal courts is preferred.

Skills:

  • Experience in trial advocacy and arbitration proceedings.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Background in moot court or mock trial activities is advantageous.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and leadership capabilities.
