A law firm seeks an enthusiastic Associate Attorney to join its expanding Workers' Compensation practice group in Charleston, SC. This position also welcomes candidates interested in working from the firm’s Columbia or Greenville offices. The ideal candidate will possess strong academic credentials along with exceptional writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills. Prior experience in Workers' Compensation and active membership with the South Carolina Bar are preferred.

Duties

  • Manage a caseload as the lead attorney, taking on significant case-handling responsibilities.
  • Interact directly with clients to provide legal guidance and support throughout the Workers' Compensation process.
  • Draft legal documents, including motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and arguments.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to receive mentorship and training.
  • Participate in hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings as required.
  • Maintain organized case files and ensure timely reporting on case developments.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the South Carolina Bar.
  • Prior experience in Workers' Compensation law is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited institution.

Certifications

  • Active bar admission in South Carolina.
