Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its growing complex commercial litigation practice in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The ideal candidate will have experience handling high-level litigation matters, including corporate, financial, real estate, and securities disputes. This position provides an opportunity to work on challenging cases in a dynamic legal environment.

Location:

  • Fort Lauderdale, FL

Duties:

  • Litigate complex commercial, corporate, financial institution, real estate, land use, construction, and securities matters, including class action defense.
  • Handle the discovery process, including drafting pleadings, briefs, motions, and memoranda.
  • Defend and take depositions, as well as manage court hearings when required.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to develop case strategies and prepare for trial.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of litigation experience, preferably at an AmLaw 100 or 200 firm or a law firm with an equivalent practice.
  • Experience in Florida state and federal courts is a plus.
  • Federal clerkship experience preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience handling depositions and court hearings is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Florida State Bar in good standing.

  • Business judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
