Job Overview:

A law firm in Newark, NJ is seeking an experienced Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join its dynamic Labor, Employment, and Workplace Safety (LEWS) practice group. The ideal candidate will bring 3-5 years of experience handling labor, employment, and workplace safety matters. The role will involve advising, litigating, and investigating employment and labor issues, as well as drafting policies and documents related to employment law. Experience with employment aspects of business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, is also preferred.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on a variety of labor and employment law issues, including workplace safety.
  • Represent clients in legal matters, including litigation and dispute resolution.
  • Investigate and resolve employment-related issues, including workplace safety matters.
  • Draft and review employment policies, contracts, and related documents.
  • Provide legal counsel on the employment-related aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and independently to handle complex legal matters.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant legal trends and developments in employment and workplace safety law.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in labor, employment, and workplace safety law.
  • Experience in employment litigation and dispute resolution.
  • Strong knowledge of employment policies, labor laws, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Proven ability to handle employment aspects of business transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New Jersey State Bar (or eligibility to obtain licensure).
