Job Overview

A growing law firm in Albuquerque is seeking a skilled and motivated Probate & Estate Law Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in estate planning and probate law and will play a key role in helping build the firm's culture while contributing to its continued success. Location

  • Albuquerque, New Mexico

Duties

  • Provide legal advice and representation in probate and estate planning matters, including wills, trusts, and related estate administration.

  • Prepare and review legal documents, including wills, trust agreements, and powers of attorney.

  • Guide clients through the probate process, including filing petitions, representing them in court hearings, and assisting with estate distribution.

  • Advise clients on tax implications, estate management, and asset protection strategies.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of probate and estate law to provide accurate and relevant legal counsel.

  • Participate in firm marketing efforts and practice development activities to help grow the estate planning/probate practice.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

  • Active license to practice law in New Mexico.

  • Experience in probate and estate law, including estate planning and probate litigation.

  • Ability to manage multiple client matters efficiently while maintaining a high level of client service.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

  • Motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for growing a practice.

  • Willingness to work independently while contributing to the firm's overall success and culture.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of New Mexico.

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of estate planning, trusts, and probate law.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage complex legal matters with attention to detail and deadlines.

  • Strong client service orientation with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients.
