Job Overview: An expanding law firm in San Antonio, TX, is seeking an experienced Associate Immigration Attorney to join their legal team. This is a great opportunity for an attorney with 1-4 years of experience in immigration law to further their career in a supportive environment. The role involves managing a diverse caseload, working with detained and non-detained individuals, and providing strategic legal solutions. The attorney will collaborate with a dynamic team of legal professionals to ensure high-quality service to clients.

Duties:

  • Explain immigration law concepts and provide strategic legal advice to clients.
  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a diverse caseload, including family-based immigration and removal defense.
  • Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals.
  • Prepare and review immigration applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on immigration law changes.
  • Meet with potential clients for consultations and develop legal strategies.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court/USCIS testimony.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience practicing immigration law.
  • Strong team player with a collaborative attitude.
  • Preferably bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and advance cases effectively.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with Case Management Software preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the United States.

Skills:

  • Strong research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to provide strategic legal advice and solutions.
