Job Overview:
A reputable law firm seeks a dedicated Remote Associate Attorney to join its growing Workers' Compensation Defense team. Reporting to a Shareholder based in Connecticut, this role supports litigation and defense of workers' compensation claims under the Defense Base Act and other related cases. Attorneys may work remotely or from offices in Houston or Miami, offering flexibility while participating in hearings, depositions, and trials.

Duties

• Defend claims under the Defense Base Act and other workers' compensation litigation
• Participate in administrative hearings, depositions, and trials, primarily conducted via video or phone conference
• Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
• Collaborate with team members and support staff to ensure thorough case management
• Provide timely and high-quality legal work and client service

Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in at least one state, in good standing
• Strong commitment to defending claims professionally under the Defense Base Act
• Ability to manage case files and meet deadlines independently

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active bar membership in at least one U.S. state
