Technology Transactions - Life Sciences Associate

Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking an Associate to join its Technology Transactions team. This is an exciting opportunity for an attorney with 3 to 4 years of experience in intellectual property (IP) transactions, particularly in life sciences and tech sectors. The role offers the chance to work closely with experienced advisors on high-impact agreements and help clients shape their IP strategies, especially within life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and emerging technologies like AI, digital health, and fintech.

Location:

Duties:

• Assist in developing and implementing IP strategies for clients in life sciences and other technology sectors.
• Support the protection and commercialization of intellectual property.
• Draft, review, and negotiate collaboration, partnering, and licensing agreements.
• Assist in drafting and negotiating foundational agreements for life sciences companies, such as university licenses, clinical trial agreements, and material transfer agreements.
• Conduct research and analysis on various technologies including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, digital health, AI, IT, fintech, renewable energy, AR/VR, and cybersecurity.
• Advise clients on corporate partnerships, strategic alliances, licensing agreements, and product research, development, and commercialization.
• Support IP and technology aspects of venture capital financings, public offerings, and M&A transactions.

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of legal experience in intellectual property transactions, life sciences, or AI.
• Strong background in life sciences, AI, venture capital, or related fields.
• Excellent research, analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree required.
• Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
• Ideally based in the Boston legal market, though open to other locations.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admitted to the state bar and in good standing.

Skills:

• Expertise in intellectual property law and transactions.
• Strong legal research and drafting skills.
• Ability to analyze and communicate complex legal and technical concepts.
• Experience in negotiating and drafting technology licensing, collaboration, and partnership agreements.
