A prominent law firm is looking to hire an experienced Health Care Associate Attorney to join their thriving team in San Francisco. The ideal candidate will have experience with Medicare and Medicaid compliance, reimbursement, and regulatory issues. This position provides an opportunity to work closely with experienced partners and associates, managing complex legal matters while contributing to a dynamic and collaborative work environment.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel to healthcare clients on Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement issues, including value-based purchasing models, alternative payment arrangements, and supplemental payment programs.
  • Advise healthcare clients, such as providers and health plans, on Medicare and Medicaid, managed care regulatory compliance, and contracting.
  • Monitor and interpret federal and state legislation, regulations, and policies affecting the healthcare industry.
  • Assist in strategic business decisions for healthcare clients, including supporting transactions and business operations.
  • Investigate potential compliance issues, including allegations of fraud, waste, or abuse within the healthcare sector.
  • Provide counsel on healthcare matters related to physician contracting, HIPAA compliance, health information technology, corporate governance, and tax-exemption issues.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in regulatory, contracting, and reimbursement matters in health care law.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proven experience working with health care providers, health plans, and managed care systems on complex regulatory issues.
  • Licensed to practice law in California and good standing with the State Bar.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and health care regulatory frameworks.
  • Expertise in health care reimbursement, compliance, and contracting.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
