A law firm seeks an experienced Trusts, Estates, and Tax Attorney to join its practice as a Partner in Fairfax, VA. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled attorney with a passion for estate planning, administration, and tax law to play a key role in the firm's continued growth and success. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in T&E practice and a desire to help lead the firm into its next phase, contributing to a positive work environment while making a meaningful impact in the community.

Duties:

  • Lead and manage estate planning, trust administration, and strategic tax planning matters for high-net-worth clients.
  • Provide legal counsel on complex issues related to estate and gift tax planning, probate, and fiduciary duties.
  • Advise clients on the formation and management of trusts and estates, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys to develop strategies for efficient estate and tax planning, focusing on wealth preservation and minimizing tax liabilities.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, working to expand the firm's client base through networking and referrals.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to the professional development of the firm's legal team.
  • Participate in leadership roles within relevant legal organizations, including ACTEC and the Virginia Bar Association, and engage in continuing legal education programs.
  • Contribute to the firm's long-term strategic goals, ensuring continued success in a highly competitive legal market.

Requirements:

  • Admission to the Virginia State Bar is required.
  • At least five years of experience in a sophisticated trust, estates, and tax practice.
  • An LL.M. or M.S. in Taxation is a plus.
  • A portable book of business is advantageous but not required.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with a collaborative approach to case management and client service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to providing high-quality legal services.
  • Ability to work independently while fostering a positive, supportive team environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Virginia State Bar is required.
  • LL.M. or M.S. in Taxation preferred, but not required.
