Duties:

• Manage and support patent prosecution, including drafting and filing applications, conducting patentability assessments, and responding to office actions.
• Represent clients in patent litigation matters, including discovery, depositions, hearings, and settlements.
• Work closely with clients to provide strategic guidance on patent portfolio management and intellectual property matters.
• Draft and review patent-related agreements and other legal documents.
• Advise clients on patent infringement risks, licensing, and other IP-related matters.
• Participate in client meetings and provide effective communication on case status and legal developments.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of patent law and trends in technology to provide up-to-date legal advice.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in patent prosecution, including drafting patent applications and handling litigation.
• Registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
• Strong knowledge in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical field such as physics or mathematics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
• Must be admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction (NC bar admission required).
• Knowledge of other intellectual property fields is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related technical field.

Certifications:

• Must be registered with the USPTO.
• NC Bar admission is required.
