Job Overview
A distinguished law firm is seeking a mid-level Healthcare & Life Sciences Associate to join its team in Chicago. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience in healthcare-related transactional work. The practice group provides expert counsel on a wide range of healthcare and life sciences issues, including federal and multi-state regulatory compliance, transaction structuring, and key statutes such as the Federal Anti-Kickback Statute, state anti-kickback laws, and the Federal False Claims Act. The role also involves advising on the regulatory considerations impacting healthcare companies and their vendors.

Duties

  • Advise clients on federal and state healthcare regulations, including compliance with the Federal Anti-Kickback Statute and the Federal False Claims Act.
  • Provide legal counsel on healthcare transactions, including structuring and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with healthcare and life sciences-related issues for clients, including vendors and service providers.
  • Review and analyze healthcare laws and regulations to guide clients through complex regulatory environments.
  • Support in drafting and negotiating agreements related to healthcare transactions and partnerships.
  • Engage in research and analysis of healthcare law developments and trends to provide strategic advice.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of experience in healthcare regulatory law and transactional matters.
  • Strong understanding of key healthcare regulations, including the Federal Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, and state-specific anti-kickback laws.
  • Experience advising on healthcare transactions and regulatory compliance matters.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to navigate complex legal issues.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction (e.g., Illinois).
