  • Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses
  • Draft and file patent applications, and respond to office actions
  • Provide strategic advice on biotechnology patent portfolios
  • Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide legal counsel
  • Prepare and file legal opinions on patent issues
  • Represent clients in front of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
  • Collaborate with inventors and clients on IP-related matters

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in biotechnology patent prosecution
  • Strong academic background and professional demeanor
  • Ability to manage complex patent matters
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Strong time management and organizational skills

Education:

  • Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • U.S. bar membership
  • Registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
