A law firm seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Family Law Attorney to join its team in Miami, Florida. This is a full-time, hybrid remote position where the ideal candidate will take ownership of family law cases from initial consultation through litigation and beyond. The role involves guiding clients through every stage of their case with integrity and professionalism. The firm values a collaborative, family-first culture, emphasizing honesty, patience, and a results-driven approach. Supervisory experience is expected, as the candidate will lead junior associates and paralegals.

Duties:

  • Provide strategic legal counsel to clients, understanding their needs, and adjusting the approach as necessary.
  • Represent clients in family law court proceedings, including hearings, mediations, and trials.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct discovery, manage settlement conferences, and handle pretrial hearings.
  • Supervise and collaborate with junior associates and paralegals, ensuring efficient case progression.
  • Handle consultations with prospective clients, providing clear explanations of legal options.
  • Maintain a client-centered approach throughout all stages of case management, ensuring that communication and expectations are aligned.
  • Contribute to business development by bringing new clients into the firm.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience practicing family law.
  • Proven track record of managing family law cases from start to finish, including litigation.
  • Strong ability to supervise and mentor junior associates and staff.
  • Results-oriented with a history of high-quality legal work and client satisfaction.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-first mentality.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Florida Bar and be in good standing.

Skills:

  • Expertise in family law, including divorce, custody, child support, and spousal support matters.
  • Strong litigation, negotiation, and mediation skills.
  • Ability to draft complex legal documents clearly and accurately.
  • Experience supervising junior attorneys and paralegals.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Business development skills, including client consultations and bringing in new matters.
