A law firm seeks a seasoned Senior Personal Injury Attorney to oversee a dynamic caseload and contribute to the growth and mentorship of a legal team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive litigation experience, a deep understanding of personal injury law, and a client-focused approach. This role offers an opportunity to lead legal strategies, manage cases from pre-litigation through trial, and play a pivotal role in the success and development of the firm.

Duties

  • Develop and implement effective legal strategies for personal injury cases, from pre-litigation to trial.
  • Oversee a caseload of 60–80 cases, primarily focused on pre-litigation and some litigation matters.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of attorneys and support staff to ensure productivity and client satisfaction.
  • Draft and review pre-litigation demand letters, pleadings, and discovery responses.
  • Conduct depositions, mediations, and motion hearings, and serve as first or second chair at trials.
  • Prepare detailed reports on team performance and case progress for senior leadership.
  • Provide compassionate and personalized support to clients, fostering trust and loyalty.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years of litigation experience in personal injury law.
  • Proven track record of handling high-volume caseloads efficiently and effectively.
  • Experience taking and defending at least 50 depositions.
  • Conducted at least 25 mediations as lead counsel.
  • Extensive trial experience, including first and second chair roles leading to jury verdicts.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate team members to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of drafting Stowers demands and demand brochures (minimum of 30 Stowers demands).
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and mediation abilities.
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding client service and maintaining meticulous attention to detail.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Texas.

Skills

  • Proficiency in legal research, drafting motions, and pleadings.
  • Expertise in pre-litigation and litigation processes for personal injury cases.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Familiarity with case management software (Neos preferred).
  • Excellent interpersonal and client relationship management abilities.
