A law firm seeks a Senior Immigration Attorney for its office in Orange, CA. This position provides an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated immigration attorney to join a growing team. In this role, you will manage a diverse caseload, collaborate with other legal professionals, and play a key role in the development and execution of strategies for clients. Duties:

  • Provide expert legal guidance on immigration law, delivering strategic solutions to clients
  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), handling both detained and non-detained individuals
  • Manage a full caseload of immigration cases, ensuring efficient case progression and client satisfaction
  • Conduct client intakes and interviews with detained individuals at detention centers
  • Prepare and file a range of immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defenses
  • Review and revise immigration applications, ensuring all documents are accurate and compliant
  • Work alongside law enforcement, prosecutors, and community organizations to stay updated on changes in immigration law
  • Meet with prospective clients to provide consultations and devise immigration strategies
  • Develop and execute case strategies, preparing clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony
  • Conduct thorough legal analysis to identify potential advantages for clients’ cases
  • Draft and file legal briefs for a wide range of immigration cases

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of experience practicing immigration law
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred, but not required
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven track record of managing caseloads and progressing legal cases
  • Experience with various immigration case types, including Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, detained individuals, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications
  • Familiarity with case management software is preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership (or awaiting admission)

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capacity
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Experience with case management systems is a plus
