A law firm in Paramus, NJ is seeking a highly experienced Partner-Level Insurance Defense Attorney to join its growing team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience managing insurance defense matters with a particular focus on personal injury litigation. The role requires proficiency in handling civil cases through trial, including taking depositions, oral arguments, and negotiating settlements. The candidate must be adept at reporting to clients and managing complex legal strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee insurance defense matters, particularly in personal injury litigation.
  • Handle civil cases from inception through trial, including drafting and filing pleadings.
  • Conduct depositions, oral arguments, and attend hearings.
  • Negotiate settlements and prepare comprehensive settlement reports.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and representation to clients.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case status and developments.
  • Supervise junior attorneys and support staff, providing mentorship and guidance.
  • Develop and implement case strategies to effectively manage and resolve client matters.
  • Stay updated on changes in insurance defense law and relevant legal precedents.

Qualifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in New York and/or New Jersey. New Jersey license is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in insurance defense litigation with a proven track record of managing complex cases.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle civil cases through trial, including significant experience with depositions, oral arguments, and negotiations.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in New York and/or New Jersey.
