A prominent law firm in Lexington, KY, is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Trial Attorney to handle a high-volume caseload and represent clients in personal injury litigation. Duties

  • Manage Caseload: Oversee approximately 150 cases, with about 50 in active litigation each month, guiding each case from intake through settlement or jury verdict.
  • Client Communication: Maintain transparent, proactive communication with clients to keep them informed and supported throughout the legal process.
  • Litigation Activities: Conduct depositions, draft and respond to motions, lead mediations, and develop effective case strategies.
  • Trial Representation: Serve as lead counsel in jury trials, passionately advocating for favorable client outcomes.

Requirements

  • Legal Experience: Minimum of 3 years practicing personal injury or civil litigation, with 5-8 years preferred. Experience in both plaintiff and defense roles is valuable, with a preference for plaintiff-side experience.
  • Licensure: Active license in good standing with the State Bar; multiple state bar admissions are a plus.
  • Trial Experience: At least 5+ first-chair trial verdicts required, with a preference for 10+ first-chair jury verdicts. Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Evidence.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to articulate case strategies and engage effectively with clients and team members.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership with the State Bar.

Skills

  • Proficient in case management, legal research, and trial preparation.
  • Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
