Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to handle a variety of collection and litigation matters. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter with strong written, analytical, and oral advocacy skills, capable of managing a high-volume caseload. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop professionally while contributing to the firm's dynamic team.

Duties:

  • Manage breach of contract and collection litigation cases from initial demand through judgment.
  • Attend court hearings, both telephonic and in person, as required.
  • Prepare and argue Motions for Summary Judgment.
  • Maintain and manage an assigned caseload to meet client expectations and firm goals.
  • Address and resolve escalated or time-sensitive matters.
  • Take on additional responsibilities and special projects as needed.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in California.
  • Experience with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar Membership in the State of California.

Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional research abilities, utilizing both legal and non-legal sources.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Capable of handling and prioritizing a large caseload.
  • Ability to problem-solve and resolve issues promptly.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail while managing high-pressure situations.
  • Flexible and willing to adapt to change.
  • A solid work ethic and the ability to collaborate with a team.
